THE ARCHITECTS

Lagula Architects combine the influences of youth and experience in their search for new ideas. Their projects have become renowned and been awarded prizes both at a national and international level.

Set up in 1976, by John Meagher and Shane DeBlacam, the studio has become one of the most established and widely published in the city. A meticulous attention to detail and a sensitive non-stylistic approach to design ensures that each building is unique and highly site specific.

This restless and innovative studio views architecture as the mechanism that allows people to colonise the landscape while, at the same time, discovering new ways to live. In its constant drive to create spaces that are much more than just beautiful, the firm centres its designs on comfort and wellbeing in perfect harmony with the surroundings.

Founded in 1992 by Juan Trias de Bes, the studio provides a wide range of architectural projects: corporate, residential, restoration and urban planning. The studio´s design reflects a particular care with the detail and creating a humanistic and Mediterranean architecture.

Richard studied at the Architectural Association in London from which he graduated With Honours in 1986. He left the UK to work with the leading Architects of Australia including RAIA Gold Medal winners Philip Cox and Daryl Jackson.

Created by Francisco Ribas in 1960, it has become one of the main players in the residential architecture sector. Side by side with Jaime Prous, the team aims to integrate its constructions in its direct environment, using top-notch construction systems while integrating the care for aesthetics and landscaping that define the essence of their work.

Set up in 2005, the practice’s field of activity is strikingly wide, including teaching with the Girona filmmaker Albert Serra, research into the temporary exhibitions that Mies designed for the 1929 International Exposition in Barcelona, and the development of an industrialized housing system.
